So, I now have all of this energy to focus on my lifestyle.
Today, I'm still somewhat "recuperating", so I'm mostly focused on my diet. Let's go with a lot of raw and not so much meat today, thanks. So far, working out grandly!
I'm going to the barn this afternoon. I love those silly mares. I don't know if I'll ride today, but I might just think about it.
Beginnings are always boring. But, I have to write SOMETHING.

Hot Tamale
I'm longing for the cooler days of fall. I'm ready for the sun to set a little earlier. I'm over the oppressive heat of this summer!
Running in the heat is really tough for me. I'm a sweater. This means that I am not dainty, nor am I lady like in the way that my body seems to dump buckets of moisture all over me as I work out. It really doesn't matter if it's cool or hot, I sweat. But in the heat, I sweat a whole lot more.
The good news is, I'm back to working out regularly. I've had some dietary snafus in the last two days, but my body was honestly hungry.
So, that's where we are today.

Back in the Saddle....er, Running Shoes
I finally rounded the corner and I'm back to exercising.
Last night a pulled off three miles and I did the same this afternoon. I'm going to do Level One of the 30 Day Shred later today.
I didn't realized that I missed running that much. It was so worthwhile just to be outside and moving. I even ran in the rain today.
Jeff is out of town until next Monday (BOOOO), so I'll have plenty of time to get the workouts done. I'm also going over to my (new to us) house and cleaning so we can get ready to move in!!

Veg-Head
I can't work out right now. I have zero energy, thanks to WHATEVER I have at the moment. On top of that, if I get hot, I WANT TO PEEL MY SKIN OFF because it itches so bad.
So, I'm really trying to compensate with my diet. We all know that if you want to lose weight, you have to eat fewer calories than you burn. I'm still trying to figure the ratio out, but I'm eating much, much less.
After doing a ton of reading and learning that my thyroid is inflamed, I opted to take a nutritional approach to healing my body. For me, this means I'm going to eat food as close to a natural state as possible. I'm not saying I'm a vegetarian, I'm just saying I'm avoiding most meat at the moment. I'm also working on eating a more plant based, raw diet. I can tell you this much, it's easier than I thought and my tummy is happier than it has been in months.
I'm working on my probiotics, also. If I ingest dairy, it's usually in yogurt form. I'm also taking a probiotic supplement. I'm on a very strong antibiotic, so this is a really good idea.
I've discovered that I'm more creative with legumes than I thought, also. Try this, it's tasty.
1 cup dry green lentils
1 box organic vegetable or chicken broth (I used chicken, I had it)
1/2 of a vidalia onion
a couple of handfuls of frozen spinach.
Bring the broth to a boil. Dump in the lentils and onion, cover it. After about thirty minutes, throw in the spinach and stir it. When the lentils are soft, eat up!
